About

Stovepipe Gang is a home on the web for the people who love Stovepipe Wells: long-time guests, people who have worked here in every decade, neighbors, rangers, and the families of everyone who came before.

It is a personal project, started in 2026, the year Stovepipe Wells turns one hundred, by Nate, who lives in Death Valley. The history pages draw on a long dig through newspaper archives, public records and museum collections.

Independent and unofficial

Stovepipe Gang is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or run on behalf of the National Park Service, Death Valley National Park, or the company that operates Stovepipe Wells Village today. For visitor information, please visit the official Death Valley National Park website; for reservations, contact the hotel directly.
